Cambridge Square boosts armed forces
fund-raiser
MARLBORO — Auction It NJ, an eBay drop-off
store at the Cambridge Square shopping center, Union Hill Road
and Route 9, will be holding a fund-raiser during July for
Project S.O.S. (Support Our Soldiers), a nonprofit
organization formed by Marlboro resident Andrea Mesh.
Project S.O.S. is a nonpolitical,
not-for-profit organization that provides support to American
armed forces and their families at home and abroad. Project
S.O.S. has had successful drives for food, pharmacy items,
stationery, pillows, phone cards and more.
Those interested in participating in the
fund-raiser may donate items from their home (or business) —
used or new — that are longer needed or wanted. Auction It NJ
will then sell them on eBay with the net proceeds benefiting
Project S.O.S., according to a press release.
Arrangements can be made for partial donations
if an individual would rather not donate all the proceeds
netted from the sale. Auction It NJ requests that items have
an approximate value of $30 or more. If the value is unknown,
Auction It NJ can provide researching services at no
cost.
Top-selling items on eBay include designer
handbags, cameras (vintage and recent), cell phones (recent),
musical instruments, home electronics, collectibles,
memorabilia, watches, jewelry, vintage toys, sporting goods,
and vintage or antique pottery, china and glass.
A “Shopper’s Raffle” consisting of gift
certificates from Cambridge Square businesses will also be
held throughout the summer. All proceeds will benefit Project
S.O.S. Those interested in purchasing tickets ($2 each or
three for $5) may do so by stopping by Auction It NJ. Stores
participating include TGIF, ShopRite, Home Depot, Fox’s, Rosen
Decorators, Spirits Liquors, Pizza Hut, White Lamb Cleaners,
Dunkin’ Donuts, Tiger Schulman Karate, Antonio’s Pizza and
Michael Anthony Hair Salon.
